Description

Is the MZC-340-PV the right earth fault loop impedance tester for me?

In solar farms and large-scale PV systems, inverters operating at 1500 V DC and 800 V AC are commonly used. The MZC-340-PV is specifically designed for these applications. The measurement of network line impedance and earth fault loop impedance is performed between the inverter and the transformer.

The MZC-340-PV supports measurements at system voltages of up to 900 V, with a maximum test current of 305 A. While it is developed primarily for use in solar farms, the earth fault loop impedance tester can also be used in other applications involving AC system voltages up to 900 V.

The MZC-340-PV operates in a measurement range of 7.2 mΩ to 1999 mΩ (four-wire measurement).

To help you make the right choice, this product page provides all the necessary information - including datasheet values, standards compliance, and a list of standard and optional accessories.

Measuring touch voltage with the MZC-340-PV

In addition to measuring earth fault loop impedance and line impedance, the MZC-340-PV is also capable of detecting touch voltage, with a maximum measurable voltage of up to 100 V. Two different measurement methods are available:

  • Touch voltage (voltage between conductive parts during simultaneous contact)
  • Shock (touch) voltage (voltage between a conductive part and the ground, using a special measuring probe)
