Is the MZC-310S the right earth fault loop impedance tester for me?

The selection of the appropriate loop impedance measuring device primarily depends on its intended area of application. Therefore, you should first clarify exactly what you want to use the device for.

Start by considering the maximum mains voltage the measuring device needs to support. For example, are you working on 400 V, 690 V, or 800 V systems?

The MZC-310S allows measurements at mains voltages of up to 440 V.

Next, you should estimate the minimum and maximum loop impedance values that the device needs to cover.

The MZC-310S operates in the following measuring ranges: 7.2 mΩ – 1999 mΩ (four-wire measurement) and 0.13 Ω – 199.9 Ω (two-wire measurement).

Measuring touch voltage with the MZC-310S

In addition to loop and line impedance measurements, the MZC-310S also enables the detection of touch voltage, with measurements of up to 100 V possible. Two measurement methods are available for this purpose:

  • Touch voltage (voltage between conductive parts during simultaneous contact)
  • Shock (touch) voltage (voltage between a conductive part and the ground using a special measuring probe)
