Description

Is the MZC-330S the right earth fault loop impedance tester for me?

Choosing the right earth fault loop impedance tester mainly depends on the intended area of application. Therefore, you should carefully consider in advance which tasks you plan to use the device for.

Start by asking yourself: What is the maximum mains voltage the tester needs to support? Are you working on 400 V, 690 V, or 800 V systems?

The MZC-330S allows for measurements at mains voltages of up to 750 V.

Next, you should estimate the minimum and maximum loop impedance values the device must be capable of measuring.

The MZC-330S operates within the following measurement ranges: 7.2 mΩ – 1999 mΩ (four-wire measurement) and 0.13 Ω – 199.9 Ω (two-wire measurement)

To help you make the right decision, this product page provides all the necessary information, including datasheet values, compliance with standards, and a detailed list of standard and optional accessories.

Measuring touch voltage with the MZC-330S

In addition to loop and line impedance measurements, the MZC-330S is also capable of measuring touch voltage, with a maximum measurable voltage of up to 100 V. This can be done using two different methods:

  • Touch voltage (voltage between conductive parts during simultaneous contact)
  • Shock (touch) voltage (voltage between a conductive part and the ground, using a special measuring probe)

What can be measured with the MZC-330S earth fault loop impedance tester?

The following table gives you a quick overview of the measurement functions and capabilities of the MZC-330S loop impedance tester.
